A Solution To The Growing Demand For Inpatient Mental Health Care

The number of psychiatric beds across the country has dropped significantly over the past decades. Yet the need for mental health treatment has never been greater. Health systems in many communities are struggling to keep up with demand. Limited options and long waiting lists appear to be the norm in many hospitals. Despite a growing societal awareness of the importance of mental health an overwhelming majority of Americans (74%) do not believe such services are accessible for everyone, and about half (47%) believe options are limited, according to a study by the National Council on Mental Wellbeing.

Psychiatric Medical Care was started by a psychiatrist, Dr. James A. Greene, who recognized the need for behavioral health options in rural areas. Today PMC offers hospitals and health systems evidence-based solutions to improve access to mental health treatment. Our inpatient behavioral health teams provide life-changing round-the-clock care to patients struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, memory problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental illnesses. We offer a comprehensive approach and focus on individualizing each patient’s treatment plan based on their needs.
